We welcome children at all our services and provide activities especially designed for them to help them take part.

Communion

Baptised children of any age are welcome to take a full part in the Eucharist by receiving the bread and wine of communion. This is left to the parent or carer’s discretion. Just indicate your wishes to whoever is administering the bread and the cup.

Happy Bags

Happy Bags can be obtained from the stewards at the Sunday morning service. In them you will find toys and books for quiet play to keep young children entertained.

Godly Play

Especially for 3-11 year olds, Godly Play takes place every Sunday during term time at our 10:30am Sunday Eucharist. A Godly Play session includes time to:

• tell a story using objects and artefacts
• explore the story more with questions and discussion
• respond to the story using a variety of materials
• enjoy a simple feast (juice and biscuits) and sharing

We are developing Sacred Play for children aged 10+.  At the present time this happens about once a month – a timetable for each term is available from the stewards.

Cathedral Tiny Tots

A Tiny Tots play space is set aside for children under 3 years and their carers to visit during the 10:30am Sunday Eucharist. There is soft flooring and activities for the children. During term time a volunteer is on hand to welcome both children and carers. Carers need to stay with their child in this area.
