John Cooper
John studied at the Huddersfield School of Music with Herbert Whone and then at the Royal College of Music with Isolde Menges and Jose Garcia. He has taught the violin both in schools and privately in Sheffield and Derbyshire for many years and also plays in a number of northern orchestras on a freelance basis.
He was the leader of the Palm Court String Quartet based in Manchester for more than 25 years. Theyplayed for many private and public functions, including a number for royalty.
John plays with the Sheffield Rep Orchestra and is currently leader of the Hallam Sinfonia based in Sheffield.
Linda Wareham
Linda began her formal piano studies at the relatively late age of eleven. She studied music at Bretton Hall, gaining a certificate of education, and continued her piano studies with Vera Yelverton in London gaining the ARCM diploma. During this time she participated in concerts at Alexandra Palace, the Purcell Room and the Queen Elizabeth Hall. She established a piano teaching practice in Oxford and was the accompanist for the City of Oxford Choir.
She now has a very busy piano teaching practice in Sheffield and is regularly involved in accompanying instrumentalists of all kinds for grade exams diplomas and competitions. She has been the accompanist for the Sheffield Chorale for a number of years and is also an official accompanist for the David Clover Festival of Singing. She is a member of the Abbeydale Singers.
