Our biggest family-friendly heritage event of the year!
With living history displays, re-enactments and characters from Sheffield’s Medieval and Tudor past, there’s a day full of fun lined up for everyone.
There’ll be a medieval tournament, falconry, music and traditional dancing with our special guests the City of Sheffield (Unite the Union) Brass Band, Sheffield City Morris and the Sheffield City Giants, whilst skilled craftspeople will let you try your hand at stone carving, stained glass making, woodturning, lacemaking and more.
Got a head for heights? Why not take a Bell Tower tour and have a go at ringing the Cathedral bells? Or go behind the scenes for a tour of the remarkable Cathedral Chapter House with its stained glass windows telling the Story of Sheffield.
With lots of children’s hands - on history, dressing up and Magna Carta activities too, come and enjoy a taste of Traditional Sheffield Past and Present and celebrate our city’s unique heritage at Sheffield Cathedral, Saturday 12 September 11am to 4pm.
