A guided coach tour of some of Sheffield’s most important pre-industrial sites.

Sheffield Cathedral is delighted to be working in partnership with Green Estate to present ‘Before the Smoke’, a Heritage Tour which begins at Sheffield Cathedral, Sheffield’s oldest building still in daily use.

Here you will discover the medieval heart of the Cathedral, learn how Sheffield’s medieval history shaped the city of today, and have a chance to view rare documents from Sheffield archives. The tour also includes visits to Bishop’s House, Heeley City Farm, Sheffield Manor Lodge and WIncobank Hillfort. A rare chance to imagine what Sheffield was like ‘before the smoke’!
