On Friday 26th May Sheffield Cathedral will host the Changing Faces Sheffield Butterfly for Face Equality on the Cathedral forecourt.
Changing Faces is a charity that helps people who have a disfigurement find a way to live the life they want. Face Equality Day is about treating people fairly and equally irrespective of facial appearance.
Changing Faces has been asking individuals, schools and organisations to draw, colour and style a butterfly tile that symbolises hope and happiness. These tiles will be brought together with their messages of affirmation to create a huge, beautiful and colourful butterfly. The campaign in Sheffield will culminate with the creation of the tile butterfly at the Cathedral on 26th May and Botanical Gardens on 27th May.
