Join us for services this Holy Week and Easter.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back to the Cathedral for Easter celebrations. To attend these services you must book in advance and numbers are limited. It will not be possible to turn up on the day not having booked. If possible please book using Eventbrite, see links below for each service. If you are unable to access Eventbrite you can phone 0114 263 6063. The number will be staffed Tuesday to Thursday between 10:30am and 12:30pm from Tuesday 16th March. Booking for the Holy Week services will close on Tuesday 30th March at 12:30pm. 

The Cathedral will be open for the following services: 

1st April at 7:30pm – Maundy Thursday Eucharist
The Eucharist of the Last Supper on Maundy Thursday followed by the Watch of the Passion. The Eucharist will last around an hour and the Watch of the Passion will take place till midnight. It is possible to leave at the end of the Eucharist and during the Watch.

2nd April at 2pm – Liturgy of Good Friday 
The Liturgy of the Day for Good Friday with COVID safe veneration of the Cross.

3rd April at 7:30pm – Easter Vigil and Service of Light
The Easter Vigil and Lighting of the Paschal Candle.

4th April at 8am – BCP Holy Communion – no booking needed

4th April at 10:30am – Easter Day Eucharist  - FULLY BOOKED
The Eucharist of Easter Day with renewal of baptismal promises.
