Lunchtime Recital: Sheffield U3A A Cappella

  • Sheffield Cathedral Church Street Sheffield S1 1HA (map)

We invite musicians from near and far to share their musical talent with us. All are welcome!

Sheffield U3A is the biggest brand of national organization for retired people, the University of the Third Age. They hold many self help groups which all are able to attend.

The A Cappella Singers are a small group of experienced singers, who sing four-part unaccompanied songs. Founded by Mike and Wendy Maas some 10 years ago, the group began by singing for pleasure in members’ homes. They were soon joined by Fran Wells, a conductor and singer of great experience, and quickly evolved into a group with high standards of public performance. Many members sing in other larger local choirs such as Sheffield Philharmonic, Escafeld and Sterndale Singers.
