Updates from the Council, Voluntary Sector, and Church on responses to the Homes for Ukraine scheme in Sheffield.
This evening will provide an update about what is happening around Sheffield and South Yorkshire in response to the Homes for Ukraine scheme the government launched in late March. The presenters will include:
A Sheffield City Council representative will speak about its response, with details on how potential hosts are being checked for suitability
A City of Sanctuary representative will speak about the response of the voluntary sector in Sheffield, especially through the SPIRNG (Sheffield Project for Refugee Integration and Growth)
An Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain representative will speak about the support offered to Ukrainians' arriving through the Ukrainian Club in Sheffield
A Diocese of Sheffield representative will overview its response, including the latest developments on matching Ukrainians with potential hosts, further ways to volunteer and give, and suggestions on how to respond to broader developments in support of those seeking sanctuary in Sheffield.
Doors will open at 7pm, with the programme beginning at 7:30pm. Time for Q&A will be reserved at the end and the event will finish at 8:45pm.
Tickets will not be checked on the door, but please do register so that we can plan accordingly for seating/health and safety purposes.
