Lunchtime Recital: Aaron Le Maistre & Joseph Dawson

Aaron Le Maistre is a 20 year old multi-instrumentalist from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. He is currently in his second year at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where he studies piano with the renowned international pianist Kathryn Stott. As a soloist Aaron has given recitals at Chapel Arts in Cheltenham, and a recital at the Gustav Holst Museum, as well as competing twice in the finals of the Gloucestershire Young Musician competition. He has also performed as a concerto soloist with both the Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra, and most recently the Stroud Symphony Orchestra, with whom he performed Rachmaninov’s fiendish Piano Concerto No.2.

Joseph Dawson studied the Cello at Manchester's Royal Northern College of Music with the distinguished professors of Cello Sally Pendlebury (Fitzwilliam Quartet), Eduardo Vassallo (Principal Cellist of the CBSO) and Petr Prause (Talich Quartet), who helped him mature as a musician. He has been a finalist of the RNCM's annual Concerto competition and Barbirolli competition, as well a recepient of scholarships from Help Musicians UK and the RNCM itself. Last year Joseph was awarded the RNCM's Hirsch Chamber Music Award along with violinist Riley Court-Wood for their performance of Kodály's Duo for Violin and Cello.

Aaron and Joseph will be performing a Piano Duet.
