Elizabeth Charlesworth, soprano, studied music at Newcastle and Sheffield universities. Early singing studies were with John Dethick, then Jean Allister. She has performed in masterclasses with Paul Hamburger in Oxford and Vienna and is a frequent recitalist in the Churches and Cathedrals of Yorkshire.
Hugh Finnigan trained in Manchester before returning to his native Sheffield to teach. He was associated with several amateur musical theatre companies as chorus member, principal, chorus master, accompanist and musical director. He was the Organist at the Cathedral Church of St. Marie (Sheffield) for more than forty years, since 1975. Elizabeth and Hugh have worked together for ten years, since their first recital in St Marie’s.
