Lunchtime Recital: Elise Pelo & Yuko Kure

  • Sheffield Cathedral Church Street Sheffield S1 1HA (map)

We invite musicians from near and far to share their musical talent with us. All are welcome!

Elise Pelo has performed musical theatre, jazz, and pop, but developed a passion for opera in the last few years and has gone on to fulfil her dream of pursuing singing and music at a university level, which has allowed her to be trained under four professional West-End and opera singers. Performance highlights include solo performances at an interfaith gathering for distinguished religious leaders and United Nations Pepresentatives, performing with Escafeld Chorale as associate soloist, and musical theatre productions through adolescent years. Elise is passionate about the escapism music brings and how much it adds to any environment and event.

Yuko Kure is a pianist and a flautist based in Sheffield, who graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2022. Her peers from the University described her piano style as one that “makes the melodies spark and the music so bright and lively!’’. With a classically-trained music background, Yuko has been performing and doing piano accompaniment for choirs, individuals and ensembles since the age of 13. Yuko loves to perform as part of a duet, an ensemble, a choir or an orchestra.  She has participated in solo piano performances in university concerts, with collaborations. Additionally, she provided piano accompaniment for friends in various events such as Sheffield Chamber Festival with Music in the Round, Sheffield classical AGM, Afternoon Concerts with Sheffield Cathedral and an Sheffield symphony orchestra.
