Lunchtime Recital: Joseph Geary

We invite musicians from near and far to share their musical talent with us. All are welcome! 

Joseph Geary is a music scholar at Loughborough Grammar School and has been playing the flute since the age of 7. Initial studies were with Ailsa Gillies-Loach and since May 2021 with Anna Pope in London. Joseph has been placed in the British Flute Society’s Young Performer competition, and in 2022, achieved 3rd place overall, the highest of any British entry.

He has recently been performing with the English Schools’ Orchestra and has previously been a member of the National Schools’ Symphony Orchestra. In January 2023, he performed the Mozart Flute Concerto No. 2 with the Bardi Orchestra in Leicester, as their Young Musician of the Year 2023 and is looking forward to performing the Reinecke Concerto for Flute and Orchestra with the Loughborough Orchestra in June this year. Joseph attained a DipLCM performance diploma in May 2021 and has recently entered for a LTCL in flute performance

Joseph is proud player of Miyazawa flutes and is delighted to be a Young Artist for them.
