Follow the ‘Starlight’ to Sheffield Cathedral this Christmas with the return of Luxmuralis spectacular lightshow

There’s no better place to start your Christmas celebrations than at the cathedral’s stunning lightshow,  Sheffield Cathedral Illuminated created by Luxmuralis.

This year we will be opening up the forecourt so everyone passing can watch the beautiful projections across the ancient walls of the cathedral and listen to the uplifting soundscape. This will be our ‘gift to the city’. 

Starlight will guide you on a journey following the three wise men. Contemporary light and sound artwork will bring to life stained-glass windows and beautiful paintings, taking you to the heart of the Nativity story which will unfold before you across the West End of the cathedral.

Your ticket will then allow you to venture inside to see this sacred place come alive through a dazzling display of light artwork and bespoke sound composition. Enjoy the beautifully decorated Christmas trees, take time to enjoy seasonal treats in 1554 Coffee and Gift shop and say a prayer and light a candle next to the famous Sheffield Steel Nativity.
