History and Heritage Talks Programme
With Nigel James
St George’s Chapel is the Regimental Chapel of the York and Lancaster Regiment (1758-1968) and depicts much of the history of this Regiment in stained glass windows, pews and screens made of swords and bayonets. Through a study of the Chapel imagery we can learn much of Christian Sainthood, the sacrifice of soldiers in war for their country and the fortitude of the survivors and the civilian population.
Tickets are £4.50 each and available from the Cathedral Gift Shop.
All talks last approx. 1 hour.
