Cathedral Volunteer takes part in Special Olympics

Cathedral volunteer, James Bailey, will be competing in the Special Olympics GB National Games being held in Sheffield this week.

Special Olympics GB is the largest registered charity providing year-round sports training and competition opportunities for people with intellectual (learning) disabilities. The National Games is the showpiece event held every four years for athletes, families and supporters, and Sheffield was chosen to host the games' 10th year.

James will be part of the opening ceremony at Bramall Lane on Tuesday 8th August and competing in the golf at Rother Valley Golf Centre on 10th and 11th.

James has been a volunteer at the Cathedral for just over a year with support from The Autism Centre for Supported Employment - a small charity in Sheffield specialising in helping adults with Autism, Asperger's and learning disabilities into work. James has been and continues to be a wonderful and dedicated member of the Cathedral team and we will all be rooting for him this week!
