Volunteering Fair in June

We’re looking for new volunteers to help make the Cathedral a place for all people!

The Cathedral will be at Sheffield Volunteer Centre’s Volunteering Fair from 10am - 1pm on Thursday 6th of June. If you’ve wondered what it’s like to volunteer at the Cathedral and how you might contribute, come chat to us!

I decided to volunteer at the Sheffield cathedral because I wanted to experience a friendly environment where I could meet new people and, in so doing, improve my communication skills. Being a volunteer at the cathedral of Sheffield also means understanding Sheffield’s history and culture. In my specific case, being a welcomer involves welcoming people with a big smile and help them out (for example giving information or just having a chat). I’ve improved my way of approaching people and had very interesting conversations. All that said, where could you find a better volunteering experience?!
— Laura, welcomer volunteer

Volunteers make a huge difference in the life of our community

Those who volunteer at the Cathedral, the oldest building in Sheffield still in daily use, work in a huge range of roles to ensure that the daily cathedral life runs smoothly. You can read more about the different roles here.

Sheffield Cathedral would not be a place for all people without our many volunteers!

If you want to explore volunteering at the Cathedral, you can come see us at the Volunteering Fair or email volunteers@sheffield-cathedral.org.uk.
