As more people are returning to the Cathedral for the Sunday Eucharist, it has become necessary to introduce a booking system.
Due to the latest Government guidelines and social distancing requirements, attendance at our Sunday services will require booking in advance. Anyone turning up on a Sunday morning without a booking will not be admitted. We are taking these measures both for your safety and the safety of our staff and clergy.
How to book your seats
The Cathedral has a dedicated booking line for you to call: 0114 263 60 75
The booking line is open Monday to Friday each week, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Bookings cannot be taken outside of these hours.
When you call you will be asked the following:
· Which Sunday you wish to book for
· Your full name
· House number and/or house name
· Postcode
· The number of people (including yourself) who wish to attend
This is required information, as set out in the Government guidelines, for Track and Trace purposes.
You will also be asked to supply the following:
· Telephone number
· Email address (if you have one)
This is to enable us to contact you if there should be any change to the planned service.
You may also be asked how many households are represented in your party. This ensures that pews are allocated to facilitate appropriate social distancing.
Arriving on Sunday morning
We would ask that you aim to arrive at least 10 minutes before the service is due to begin (i.e. no later than 10:20 a.m.).
When you arrive, please give your name to the Steward/Welcomer and confirm how many people are in your party.
All pews will be numbered and you will be advised of your seats. Please only sit where you are allocated.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
In order that everyone can be given the chance to attend the Sunday Eucharist, we are only taking bookings for a maximum of 3 weeks in advance.
Bookings cannot be made on Sundays as the few available staff have clear duties and will not have time to manage bookings as well.
