Christmas at Sheffield Cathedral 2020

We welcome you to join us at one or more of our Christmas services this year.


Christmas Carol services
Saturday 19th December at 3pm
Sunday 20th December at 3pm and 6pm

All three carol services over this weekend tell the Christmas story through readings and traditional carols, sung by members of the choir of St Matthew’s Westminster. In addition, there will be music by Rutter and Morehen.

Pre-booking is essential. You can book through the links below or by calling 0114 263 6075 by the 18th December. A recording of this service will be available after the weekend on the Cathedral’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

 A Festival of Lessons and Carols
Thursday 24th December at 3pm

The final carol service before Christmas with readings from the Christmas story and choir sung carols. Additional music by Warlock and Lindley. Pre-booking is essential and can be done online through Eventbrite or by phoning 0114 263 6075, before the 22nd December. The service will also be will be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook.

 

The Midnight Eucharist of Christmas
Thursday 24th December at 11:30pm

We gather in the middle of the night to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. With the blessing of the crib and music by Langlais, Bach, Warlock and Edmundson.

Holy Communion according to the Book of Common Prayer for Christmas Day

Christmas Day Eucharist
Friday 25th December at 10:30am

Join with the Cathedral community as we celebrate Christmas together. We shall light the Christmas candle and hear again of the joyful first encounters with the infant Christ. With music by Archer, Peeter and Widor.
